This 240 page study guide analyzes the entry-level assessment center method for police hiring, which has been proven effective through various research studies.  This methodology focuses on evaluating successful job-related behaviors and traits.  The Entry Level Assessment Center uses simulated situations to evaluate job related behaviors and traits the law enforcement officers are required to display on the job.  This allows for observation to evaluate how they would perform in the target position.  This book is the only tool of its kind in the law enforcement profession nationwide. The document also provides government officials with the fundamental principles and guidelines for hiring entry-level law enforcement officers.  It may be utilized by all law enforcement agencies regardless of size or type.  Some of the chapters include Selection Criteria for Law Enforcement Officers, Written Examination, Physical Fitness Testing, Oral Interview, Background Investigation and Polygraph Examination.
